Welcome to Project Thesis NIU, a blog run by the NIU Thesis
and Dissertation graduate student office staff -- for NIU graduate students.
The whole point of Project Thesis NIU is to create a
resource for NIU graduate students who have questions and/or concerns about the
process of writing and submitting a thesis or dissertation.
Project Thesis NIU will inform you about updates to the
Graduate school thesis or dissertation calendar, upcoming workshops to help if
you are about to start writing your thesis or dissertation, and resources to
consult on your own that might help get you in the right frame of mind even
before you’ve found the right topic for your thesis or dissertation.
Also, believe it or not, there have been lots of changes
in the field of writing and publishing a thesis or dissertation, and we feel
it’s important to keep you up-to-date on such nationwide debates.
Primarily, it’s our hope to open a line of communication with
NIU’s community of graduate students through this blog, especially those who do
not live in DeKalb and find it difficult to find free time in their busy
schedules to drive all the way into campus.
